First check that your phone supports eSIM, then install the one you bought. Both parts cover iPhone and Android — pick your phone in the tabs.
Two ways to check. Either one on its own is enough — if your phone shows an EID, or a place to add an eSIM, it supports eSIM.
An EID is the serial number of the eSIM chip. Only a phone with eSIM hardware has one.
Open the Phone app and dial *#06#. You do not need to press call.
Look for EID. A 32-digit number means your iPhone supports eSIM. No EID row means it does not.
If the option to add an eSIM exists in Settings, your phone can hold one.
Open Settings and tap Cellular, or Mobile Data.
Scroll to Add eSIM. If the row is there, your iPhone is ready to install.
Your phone supports eSIM. Go to section B and install it.
This phone cannot take an eSIM. A phone bought from a carrier may also be locked to that carrier even if it has an EID.
Install at home on Wi-Fi before you fly — you only need to install once. Keep the OkieSim line and its data roaming off until you land: your plan starts the day you first turn the line on, and its days count from then. Turn it on within 90 days of purchase. Three ways to install, all from your order page.
Open your order page on a laptop or a second screen, then scan it with the phone that will use the eSIM.
Open the Camera app and point it at the QR code on your order page.
Tap the Cellular Plan Detected notice that appears.
Tap Add Cellular Plan, label the line, and keep your home number as the default.
Use this when your order page is already open on the phone that will use the eSIM. iOS 17.4 or newer.
On your order page, tap Add to iPhone.
Tap Continue when iOS asks, then follow the prompts to finish the line.
A fallback for when the camera cannot read the QR code. Both values are on your order page, each with a copy button.
Go to Settings › Cellular › Add eSIM › Enter Details Manually and paste both codes. Leave the confirmation code blank.
When you land, set the OkieSim line as your data line and switch Data Roaming on for it.
Keep your activation details private — anyone with the activation code can install your eSIM. An eSIM can only be installed once; deleting it from your phone does not give you a new one.
